Some time ago, I added a field to the locomotive display page labeled ‘Date of Photo:’. For quite some time, the field always said Unknown. The field is circled in the image below:
A utility was written to scan the images in our system for Exif data containing the field Date/Time Original and that data was added to the record for each locomotive which had a photo containing the Date/Time Original information.
The process used to approve a photo submitted by a user was also modified, so that any future photos containing the time stamp described above will be listed this way on the website. I hope that you will find this interesting, or possibly even useful.
